Custom Shower Doors
Whether it’s an apartment, a house or a cabin in the woods, your home is a reflection of you. Every room is designed and decorated according to your personal tastes, and the bathroom is no exception. Installing ashower enclosure may not seem like an opportunity to be inventive, but there are so many options available that it’s easier than ever to create something both functional and stylish.
Frameless vs. Semi-Frameless Shower Doors
The terms frameless and semi-frameless may seem confusing at first since most shower enclosures have some type of metal frame, but they only apply to the shower door. A frameless door has no frame around it and is attached to the wall by hinges. A semi-frameless has a frame along only part of the door, usually along the bottom to prevent dripping. While both have their good qualities, frameless is the optimal choice. Not only do they look nicer and more modern, you are more likely to find one that fits your enclosure since they come in a much wider variety of sizes and shapes than framed. Though normally more expensive, we have adjusted the price of our customized frameless doors so that our customers won’t have to settle for anything less than what they want.
When choosing a shower enclosure the four most important elements to consider are size, shape, glass thickness and accessories. Our friendly, knowledgable showroom experts will work with you to create the perfect bathroom.
Make sure you have accurate measurements of the space available. Measure the length, height and width of the area from wall to wall in at least two places. And always measure twice! Show us your measurements, no matter how big or how small, and we’ll show you several attractive, affordable options.
Shower enclosures aren’t just for squares, or rather, square shapes. The base is the foundation of the enclosure and determines the overall shape and design of your shower. Our base selection includes the most popular shapes today, including diamond, neo angle (three-sided glass and two walls), rectangular, and of course, square. In order to better serve you, bringing along a few photos of the designated shower area will help us determine the right fit.
Shower glass is typically 3/8” or 1/2” thick. Both are sturdy and structurally sound. The 1/2” is more durable while the 3/8” is more economical, but ultimately the size and shape of your enclosure determines the thickness of the glass. Our experts can help you decide which is best suited for your needs.
Accessories add a finishing touch and can include handles, hinges, knobs, and hooks. Like a work of art, the little details make a big difference. Chrome shower knobs could be the best compliment to turquoise wall tiles, while a few hooks could offer a convenient place to hang washcloths or a basket of shower gels. We will be happy to discuss the possibilities with you.
